Back in Rome in Time for the Conclave (Rome, IT)

I arrived back in Rome early this evening.  The flight was delayed by over an hour at departure.  In anticipation of snow and sleet, the flight was originally cancelled early Sunday evening, then confirmed again later in the evening for its scheduled departure.  Thanks be to God, the snow in London was basically flurries for a good part of the morning, but there were minor travel delays at Heathrow Airport.

It is good to be part in the warmth of Rome.  All the attention now is directed to Vatican City.  The conclave starts tomorrow and formally begins with Mass in St. Peter's Basilica at 10:00 AM.  I will be there, but from a distance.

Now back to London and the photos I was unable to upload yesterday.  The photos will be of the theatre district around the area of Covent Garden. And so, here they are.

Statue of a ballerina across for the Royal Opera House.

Royal insignia above main door of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Rear courtyard of the church facing Covent Garden.

One of the many street performers throughout Covent Garden who usually attract large crowds of onlookers.

Underground tube station

Take a guess about what this is....a foot bridge connecting two buildings several stories above the street.

Do you recognize the guy whose reflection is in the mirror as he is taking the photo?

Remember, yesterday was Mother's Day in the UK.  What would you give your mom on her special day?  Chanel had the answer for last minute shoppers.
