I just returned from a day of sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) with Father Julio Giulietti, SJ, who is the Director of Loyola University Chicago's Vietnam Center. I have known Julio for over 30 years. He is a member of the New England Province. He has lived here for several years and in charge of Loyola's program which allows undergraduates from Loyola to study for a year in Saigon. I will be visiting the Center on Monday. Before I post the photos which I took today, I want to finish with my photos of Bangkok. This posting will be devoted to photos from the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the largest statue of Buddha in Thailand.
The statue of the reclining Buddha is inside the temple. There is no way to take one photo of the statue from end to end.
Monks can also be tourists!

Not a very scary temple guardian...love the hat!
There were Buddhas galore throughout the temple area.

The next posting, Part 4, will be from the Temple of the Dawn and my final day of sightseeing in Bangkok...
